After graduating, Michael pursued a successful career in high-end residential and commercial architectural design on the East Coast for nearly 15 years. However, despite his professional accomplishments, he found himself missing the authentic Detroit-style pizza that had become such an integral part of his identity. This absence motivated him to begin learning the traditional methods of pizza-making, drawing upon culinary knowledge he had accumulated over the years through helping his mother and grandmother in the kitchen.[1]

When Michael relocated to California in 2018, his longing for authentic Detroit-style pizza intensified, and he recognized an opportunity to fill a significant gap in the local market. Rather than simply accepting the absence of his beloved pizza style, he made the bold decision to create it himself.
